Monica Carol Barrett and Alexis Dian Frazier were married Tuesday at the Manhattan Marriage Bureau. James Mitchell, a staff member in the City Clerk’s office, officiated.

Ms. Barrett (at left), 53, is an associate vice president and deputy general counsel at Rutgers in New Brunswick, N.J. She graduated from Wellesley College and received a law degree from the University of Michigan. She is a daughter of Jean deSales Barrett of Spring Lake Heights, N.J., and the late Thomas Joseph Barrett Sr.
Ms. Frazier, 62, is an associate professor and the director of curriculum development for youth initiatives at LaGuardia Community College in Long Island City, Queens. She graduated from New York University and received a doctor of education degree in educational psychology and applied linguistics from Columbia. She is a daughter of the late Carolyn White Frazier and the late Charles Alexander Frazier, who lived in St. Albans, Queens.
