Social KPIs - the grand reveal! đToday I am traveling to the BSR Human Rights Working Group meeting, hosted by one of our members, where I am going to talk about Social KPIs - policy, process, target, impact, and an interesting journey ahead for many global companies in aligning their vision of impact with the impacts of their value chains, products and services, as experienced by the affected parties. Reporting does not need to, should not be disconnected from operations and impacts. In fact, good reporting should aim for the opposite, - it should help narrow down generic itemisation of all possible good things to do to the activities that make a difference, it should test the assumptions it builds on, it should be adjusted over time as a result of learning from successes and mistakes, and it should help make the right decisions. Overall, good social metrics have to be meaningful, coherent, and effective in helping achieve what they are set out to achieve, while revealing nuances and common ground for different stakeholder groups. #SocialKPIs #CSRD #KPINInja #BSR #OntheroadagainđđĽˇđ§ đŤLooking forward to seeing you in a bit! I have got to say, GIR Global Investigations Summit is the best hidden secret I discovered this year! Margot Fransen Annabel Kerley, FCA Alessandro Borrello, Marcos Czacki and I covered supply chain investigations, legislation, best practice and poor practice examples, and challenges, and even the big ESG-short in all of one hour! Thank you for a great panel conversation to my fellow panelists, and thank you for having me Deborah Connor, Annabel Kerley, FCA I also learned a lot about different aspects of white crime, effectiveness of sanctions, and many other things I need to process, and made very unlikely friends! :)Milan didnât hurt either. #GIR2024

đđŠđťđâď¸One question every company needs to think about is - What is our role in advancing a Transition to Net Zero that is just, fair and inclusive? What is this about? As we are aiming to transition towards Net Zero, many people need to be trained in new ways of working, local communities are impacted by departure of the old and arrival of the new, more sustainable businesses, all of this bringing positive and negative impacts on people while trying to save the planet.I for one have been looking forward to hosting an event in Copenhagen on Just Transition ever since joining #BSR two years ago, because Just Transition has all the potential to unite and strengthen rather than separate and weaken our people and our planet.Et voilĂ ! Here we are! In less than two weeks, my colleagues Anine BundgĂĽrd, Verena N., Trine Rosenberg, and I are welcoming:â˘Cathrine Bloch Veiberg, Head of Human Rights & Social Sustainability, UN Global Compact Network Denmark â˘Nicole Bjerler, IKEA Strategic Sustainability Topic Developer: Human & Childrenâs Rights, Inter IKEA Group â˘Alma GarcĂa, Senior Advisor, Sustainability & Greening, Private Sector & Market Systems at Folkekirkens NødhjĂŚlp (DanChurchAid) â˘Geneviève Rose, Business and Human Rights Lead, IWGIA - International Work Group for Indigenous Affairshttps://lnkd.in/dGUDMkiDâ a small group of companies, academia, and civil society actors joining us at the Democracy Garage, in Copenhagen, for to what we hope to be a moving, informative conversation about the crucial role and impact of just transition on the workforce, communities, and livelihoods.đWe will explore the drivers, methods, examples, and future scenarios of integrating just transition into business and sustainability strategies, asking some difficult questions and engaging our guests in a learning and sharing dialogue. As the host and moderator, I am quite excited đ What questions would you ask the panelists if you had an opportunity to join? Sign up: https://lnkd.in/dFJtjiPT - or send me a message on LinkedIn if you would like to learn more about this topic.#justtransition #socialimpact

My colleague Lisa Staxäng and I had a little fun work discussion about what will come faster: Will We Reverse Climate Change or Achieve Full Gender Equity? Unfortunately, but somehow not shocking, if we are to place our trust in the 'hands' of AI, it does not look good, neither for equity, nor for gender equity...Do you agree or disagree? What would it take to prove AI wrong? đ¤ and Can AI replace Lisa Staxäng? ;)Comparative Analysis of Reverse Climate Change and Achieving Full EquityCurrent Momentum: Both movementsâreversing climate change and achieving full equityâare gaining momentum but face significant challenges.Global Cooperation: Climate change requires unprecedented levels of international cooperation among nations with differing interests. The urgency is heightened by scientific consensus on the need for immediate action; however, political will varies significantly across countries.Societal Will: The push for equity often comes from grassroots movements demanding systemic changes within societies. While there is a growing recognition of the importance of equity issues globally, actual policy changes can be slow due to political polarization or resistance from established power structures.Technological Advancements vs Social Change: Technological solutions for climate change may be implemented more rapidly than societal changes required for achieving full equity. For instance, renewable energy technologies can be deployed relatively quickly compared to changing deeply rooted societal norms regarding race or gender.Urgency vs Long-term Goals: The urgency surrounding climate change may lead to faster implementation of policies aimed at mitigation compared to the gradual process needed for achieving full equity which often requires cultural shifts alongside policy changes. In conclusion, while both areas are critical challenges facing humanity today with overlapping implicationsâsuch as how marginalized communities disproportionately experience environmental degradationâthe mechanisms driving progress differ significantly.Based on these considerations:Bold Answer:It is likely that we will reverse climate change faster than achieve full equity due to technological advancements enabling quicker implementation compared to the complex societal changes required for true equitable outcomes. The probability that we will reverse climate change faster than we will achieve full gender equity is higher given current technological advancements and international cooperation efforts focused on urgent climate action compared with the slower societal changes needed for complete gender equality.P.S. This photo is two years old, but not much has changed on the Ăquity front.#greed #bias #genderbias #AIpessimism #dilemas #dopeopledissapoint? #justtransition

It looks like a crime scene because it is! đđReach out to our Nature SWAT Berkley Rothmeier Margot Brent Erin Leitheiser Laura Donnelly Juliette P. to get help mapping it all out - where to clean up 𧟠where to burry, no no no, where to plant 𪴠new pathways, and who would be a good partner in collective action.
