Take the top off then take the front kick panel then take the side off and replace the spring by hooking the loop of the spring to the door hinge, then close the door. With a long nose pliers stretch the spring and put it in place, I put a bit of grease on both ends of the spring then put the covers back on and the job is done.

Heads-up ... The coffee heater 900w unit, while the steam heater 1200w unit. They both look similar but arent. So remove all panels, remove main panel side screws and fiddle with the 4 mounting screws of the broken thermo block and its nuts at the back from the top and side - it is rather fiddly getting them out (and back in later). Keep the thermal padding of the steam block as the new block supplied doesnt come with it. Make sure you have the 2 appropriate fittings ferrules to fit the new thermo block. Once replaced all three heaters should get hot very quickly and the start-up cycle completes bringing the machine back to full operation thereafter.

Inside oven secure new element to back of oven. Switch oven on - if you have supplied a serviceable element it will heat up which it did, it helps if oven door is removed for easier access.

Unscrew rear panel of oven to reveal rear of stove control knobs. Locate knob that controls faulty hot plate. Remove knob from front of oven, then remove thermostat from the rear of the stove control panel. Switch pins from old thermostat to new thermostat (one at a time to ensure that the correct wires attach to the correct pins on the new thermostat. Attach new thermostat to rear of stove control panel, then re-attach stove plate control knob to the front. Replace oven rear panel. Stove plate should now be regulating temperature correctly.

I attempted to undo more than was required which took hours and a lot of frustration. Remove beans. Take off the bean hopper. Remove the motor base. Lift out the top burr. Then undo the nut on top of the bottom burr in a clockwise direction. This was jammed. I also undid the screws for the motor base thinking that was required. Bad move.
Tools Required:
Shifting spanner and a rag to grip the burr. Nothing else worked for me.
